The Farmer

Meet Abel Grobbelaar. Director and co-owner of Petrichor.

Farmer on our family farm Wolweplaat in Luckhoff, Free State.

Abel went to Agricultural high school whereafter he completed his degree in Agriculture at the University of the Free State. To say that from there he started farming would be far off as he has been farming since before he could walk. This is truly where passion met purpose.

His hands plant and grow, nurture animals and his brain and dedication is something I look up to. He has tons of insight on the plant, production and composition of our plants and oils. This is his avenue and something I learn from daily.

A total of 16 000 prickly pear plants is established on our farm. Abel makes sure that we stick to sustainable development by using all that we get from the plant so ensure zero waste. (His blog on this to follow soon)

I am SO proud to call this man my brother, the one who planted the seed for this venture and dream (literally too)
